INTENSIVE TAHFIZ AL-QUR'AN PROGRAM

I. The Virtues and Spiritual Importance of Qur'anic Memorization

In accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and in fulfillment of the educational standards set forth in the Constitution of Masjid Al-Wasatiyah Wal-Itidaal, we are pleased to announce the official launch of our Intensive Tahfeez Al-Qur'an Program.

Memorizing the Speech of Allah ﷻ (Kalam Allah) is one of the highest spiritual honors a Muslim can achieve. It is not merely an academic endeavor, but a noble covenant that transforms the heart, character, and life of the student. As preserved in the authentic Sunnah, the virtues of committing the Noble Qur'an to heart are vast and profound:

  • Elevation in the Ranks of Paradise (Jannah):

    The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

"It will be said to the companion of the Qur'an (the one who memorized and recited it): 'Recite and rise in status, and recite as you used to recite in the world, for your status will be at the last verse you recite.'"

    — Sunan At-Tirmidhi & Sunan Abi Dawud

  • The Best of Mankind:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ identified those devoted to the Qur'an as the noblest in the Ummah:

"The best among you are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it."

    — Sahih al-Bukhari

  • Intercession on the Day of Judgment:

    The Prophet ﷺ stated:

"Recite the Qur'an, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for its companions."

    — Sahih Muslim

  • Crown of Honor for Parents:

The reward of a Hafidh or Hafidhah extends directly to their parents in the Hereafter:

"Whoever reads the Qur'an, learns it, and acts in accordance with it, on the Day of Resurrection his parents will be given a crown to wear whose light is brighter than the light of the sun..."

    — Al-Hakim

II. Program Details and Operational Schedule

To foster consistent discipline, proper recitation (Tajweed), and structured retention, the program operates on a rigorous weekly schedule:

  • Days: Monday through Thursday

  • Timing: Between 'Asr and Maghrib Prayers

  • Location: Masjid Al-Wasatiyah Wal-Itidaal (Main Musalla & Classrooms)

  • Target Audience: Open to youth and adults (brothers and sisters with qualified instructors).

III. Rules of Compliance and Behavioral Expectations

In compliance with our constitutional mandate regarding sacred learning (Adab al-'Ilm) and governance, all students and parents/guardians must commit to the following policies:

  1. Punctuality & Discipline: Students must arrive promptly before the 'Asr prayer and remain engaged until Maghrib. Unexcused absences or habitual tardiness undermine memorization progress and affect enrollment status.

  2. Daily Revision Standard: Memorization requires strict consistency. Students are expected to complete their daily review assignments at home prior to class.

  3. Islamic Character & Respect: High standards of Islamic etiquette, respect for instructors, care for the copies of the Qur'an (Masahif), and proper conduct within the Masjid are strictly mandatory.

IV. Registration & Contact Information

Enrollment capacity is limited to maintain appropriate student-to-teacher ratios and ensure individual attention for each student's recitation and memorization.
